As I write this post, Cassandra Wilson’s performance this past weekend at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is still fresh on my mind. Time flew as we committed to those tickets months ago as soon as we found out about her tour. Back story is that we have had a divided opinion about Jazz in our household as Pandora isn’t much of a jazz fan. Cassandra Wilson on tour is such a rare occasion that it did not even cause us a thought.
The acoustics was surprisingly fine given the venue. Ms. Wilson’s throaty low notes were accompanied by instrumentals. The bass player’s performance was superb and all in all it was well worth travelling 3,000 miles to across the country to see her. Assembly this Part 4 of 6 LP demo playlist/recommendation focusing on the jazz albums on my list of demo LP materials seems quite timely.
Included below are the albums and the actual track that are superb both musically and sonically. Enjoy.
