Output Current for Gryphon amplifiers

FAQs | Applies to: Gryphon Colosseum Solo Mono Amplifier, Gryphon Colosseum Class A Stereo Amplifier, Gryphon Antileon EVO Stereo Power Amplifier, Gryphon Antileon EVO Mono Power Amplifier

What is the output current of the stereo and mono amplifiers between the different Gryphon amplifiers: Antileon EVO, Colosseum & Mephisto?

Answer:

Below is the comparison between the different Gryphon Design’s amplifiers. However, please note that if you are comparing with other brands, you MUST compare output current measured under the same conditions, into the same load and same THD figures as Gryphon does not have current limiters in the circuit like some other brands and can draw as much power as need be to measure these figures while other brands probably can’t without tripping some fuses.

Values below are RMS values derived from tech spec on Gryphon’s website. The output current is I = √(P/R)

Output Power (RMS) pro channel:

Mephisto Stereo - 1400W / 1Ohm
Mephisto Solo - 1600W / 1Ohm
Colosseum Stereo - 1250W / 1Ohm
Colosseum Solo - 1450W / 1Ohm
Antileon EVO Stereo - 1200W / 1Ohm
Antileon EVO Mono - 1400W / 1Ohm

Current (RMS):
Mephisto Stereo - = 37,4 A
Mephisto Solo - = 40 A
Colosseum Stereo - = 35,4 A
Colosseum Solo - = 38 A
Antileon EVO Stereo - = 36,6 A
Antileon EVO Mono - = 37,4 A
