Building on the success of our popular LS6 monitor, the LS6/f is a floor-standing loudspeaker system that combines a modern aesthetic with the open, uncolored sound you’d expect from a Graham Audio system.
The integrated plinth provides a flow-optimized path for the airflow from the port, reducing distortion at high outputs.
The LS6/f uses the same custom drive units as the stand-mount LS6 and has an optimized crossover network using premium quality components to integrate the acoustic output from both drive units and equalise the overall response for optimum performance in free space. A switch on the front panel adds 1 or 2dB to the tweeter level, which might be advantageous in certain acoustic environments.
In common with all our loudspeakers, the cabinet uses the classic BBC “thinwall” construction, where the panels are mass-loaded to ensure that resonances are moved away from the critical mid-range region, and a layer of Rockwool is held in place by fabric to provide air damping. Hand-matched veneers are applied and finished to a very high standard. The grille is carefully designed to minimize diffraction effects and is held in place by concealed rare-earth magnets.

“The Chartwell LS6f is a beguiling loudspeaker, and an example of growth within the ever-expanding Graham Audio portfolio. Like the massive VOTU, it represents a move away from simply preserving the BBC’s past in aspic. It still holds to the basic concepts expoused by the Beeb back in the 1960s and 1970s, but represents a useful branching out design-wise. If you always wanted a bigger LS3/5a, look no further than the LS6f!”

“Integration of the low-midrange driver and bass-reflex seems perfect. The latter delivers exactly what it is used for – scale and richness, but without boomy effect or blurring of the bass attack. It’s a really great combination. Same goes for the transition to the range reproduced by the tweeter. The speakers sounds like a single transducer, in a very orderly, coherent way reproducing a dense presentation in front of a listener, and when needed – like on the Tomita album – also behind him. Which proves that the drivers in these speakers are phase-coherent, which may also be a reason of such a natural sound.”
