ACCUSTIC ARTS® POWER III: Audiophile integrated stereo power amplifier with included headphones amplifier
The POWER III integrated amplifier is equipped with a 550 VA toroidal transformer.
The separate secondary windings feed a dedicated power supply for each output stage, ensuring optimal independence between the two power amplifier channels. This design reduces mutual interference and guarantees a stable power supply for the signal and power stages.
The Class AB output stages each feature six power transistors and are driven by a Kascode voltage amplifier stage. The circuit layout is fully balanced. The output stage is designed for high current delivery and operates with stable loads down to a lower impedance of 2 ohms.
For operational reliability, protection mechanisms for monitoring DC offset, overload, and overtemperature are implemented. These safeguard both the amplifier and connected loudspeakers.
The preamplifier provides two balanced and three unbalanced analog inputs. All inputs feature individual level adjustments for adapting to different signal sources. The UNITY GAIN function, selectable in the settings menu, allows you to bypass the volume control for the analog inputs, enabling the amplifier to be integrated into an existing surround sound system.
For digital sources, we have included four SPDIF inputs (two optical and two coaxial) as well as a USB input. The ESS DAC operates with 32-bit/384kHz upsampling and can process DSD data streams up to DSD512.
Additionally, a switchable preamplifier output is available, which can be operated with either a fixed or variable level.
The device is housed in a robust metal chassis and features a 10 mm thick aluminum front panel. A clearly laid-out, easy-to-read display provides information on operating status and settings. Operation is possible both directly on the device and via infrared remote control.
The overall design follows a functionally separated structure of power supply, voltage amplification, and output stage, focusing on reproducible electrical characteristics and stable operating conditions.
In our devices, we generally use tried-and-tested, straightforward circuitry. The circuits we employ are invariably the result of extensive electronics development and comprehensive measurements, accompanied by lengthy listening sessions with a wide variety of musical material. The result is a range of sophisticated audio components, both sonically and technically, designed to provide owners with years of enjoyment. We have countered fleeting sonic trends with a technically mature and acoustically audiophile product that will more than satisfy both us and our users.
